The Red Rings of Redemption is an idea that has gone through many stages. Initially the project was envisioned as a sort of recreation of Broken Pixels, an internet show where three video game critics made humorous commentary on bad video games (sadly 1up.com no longer seems to carry the videos but I recommend everyone check them out on youtube.com). Hopefully, the Red Rings of Redemption may one day again have a video element, but for now it will be contained to writing.

The purpose of this blog is not to review products as they are released but to provide thoughtful insight to those works that have existed for some time. This is not a place for nostalgia. Never once will you hear me talk about how great the 8-bit days of the NES were. I may mention older products, but it will never be simply for the sake of praise.

This blog will examine media. What works, what doesn’t. I cannot guarantee anything except this: the reasoning for this blog will never be “because I said so.”
